What is Wolfram Alloy Rod?

Wolfram alloy rod is refractory metal, which has two-phase composites consisting of W-Ni- Fe or W-Ni- Cu or even W-Ni-Cu-Fe. Wolfram alloy rod materials satisfy the most stringent requirements of manufacturing industries. Wolfram alloy rod derive its fundamental properties from those of the principal wolfram phase, which provides for both high density and high elastic stiffness. It is these two properties that give rise to must applications for this family of materials. Wolfram alloy rod also called wolfram heavy alloy rod.

Wolfram heavy alloy rod is produced by pressing and sintering into billets, which are worked by rolling or swaging into it. A center less-ground finish can also be furnished.  Specific lengths and special fabrications can be supplied upon request.

Wolfram heavy alloy rod is produced in straight random lengths with a smooth swaged surface at diameters 3mm and larger, and with a smooth drawn finish below 3mm. Most of the major applications for wolfram heavy alloy are based on its very high density where it is used to control or distribute weight in some way. Wolfram is up to 65% denser than lead and 130% denser than steel.

Wolfram heavy alloy rod is manufactured from wolfram alloy by metallurgical technology. Compared to rods made from other material, wolfram heavy alloy rod has so many properties that other materials do not have. Firstly, its density and hardness are higher than others. Secondly, it can resist high temperature and corrosion. Lastly, wolfram alloy has wonderful shock resistance and it can machine easily.

They are usually used to making the parts of counterweight, radiation shielding, military defense appliance, welding rod, extrusion die. Some sports facilities are also use it, such as darts, billets, golf club, etc. In addition, we can manufacture and offer wolfram heavy alloy rod as the counterpart of Anviloy 1150, whose properties are much similar.
